Who does Reddit recommend instead of you?
Enter a question your buyers ask. We find the Reddit threads asking it, read the top replies and show which brands people recommend, and where you're missing. AI assistants read these threads too.
- Searching Reddit for threads asking your question

Why it matters
AI assistants read Reddit before they recommend you
When someone asks ChatGPT for the best tool in your category, the answer is shaped by what real people say in places like Reddit. In Ahrefs' September 2026 data, Reddit was the most cited website in ChatGPT answers, ahead of Wikipedia.
How to read your results
Three kinds of thread
The threads to look at first. Someone asked your buyers' question and the replies sent them elsewhere.
The easiest to join. A genuinely helpful answer here can shape what people, and AI, hear next.
Check it's accurate. An old price or a wrong feature in a popular thread travels.
Join conversations, don't spam them
We never post for you. Reply drafts always start with who you are, answer the question first and name alternatives fairly. Communities remove self-promotion fast, and a banned account helps nobody.
Track this weekly with a free accountCommunity Gap Finder FAQ
What does the Community Gap Finder do?
It searches Reddit for threads where people ask the question you enter, reads the top replies and lists the brands people recommend. Each thread is marked as a gap (competitors named, you are not), open (no brand named yet) or named (you are already mentioned).
Why do Reddit threads matter for AI search?
AI assistants lean on community discussions when they decide which brands to recommend. In Ahrefs' September 2026 data, Reddit was the most cited website in ChatGPT answers, with 16.8% of citations among the top sources. Threads where your competitors are recommended and you are not are a common reason AI names them instead of you.
Is it free?
Yes. You can run 1 check a day without an account and see the top 5 threads. A free account gives you 3 checks a day, every thread and 3 reply drafts a day. Paid plans allow more, and Pro and Agency track your key questions every week inside the app.
Do you post on Reddit for me?
No, never. We show you the threads and, if you want, a suggested reply that says who you are, answers the question first and names alternatives fairly. You decide whether to post, in your own words and within each community's rules.
Which communities does it search?
Reddit, across all public subreddits. We look at threads from roughly the last 18 months, newest and most discussed first. Quora is planned.
How fresh are the results?
Each question is searched at most once a week and the result is shared, so popular questions load instantly. The date of the check is shown above your results.
Do you store usernames?
No. We keep the thread titles, links, reply text and counts needed to show the result. We never show or store Reddit usernames.
